Google Checks in With African Developers [Video]

A lot has been heating up in the African tech space. As it continues to grow as an emerging market, Africans from various countries are contributing to the growth of a true eco-system.

Google decided to do a brief round up of the latest in African technology that included the 2012  Google Apps Developer Challenge. According to the Google  Africa Blog, the developer community came together to host 18 developer events events focused on the competition with special training on the Google Drive APIs and Apps Script as a way of preparing for the competition.

In addition, approximately 12 African developers attended Google I/O in San Francisco for the live show and there were a record 23 viewing parties across 16 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa alone.
