It’s that time again! Back to school, whether it is your first or last time going back make sure your smartphone is equipped with some essential apps to get you through the year. I mean because in college, phones are life!
Music Streaming App
Having some kind of music app on your phone is essential. You never know where you may end up that you need to plug-in such as the library or train if you go to school in the city. There are numerous out there, Pandora is probably the most popular. I suggest Spotify too.
Daily Deals
Being broke in college isn’t a game, but on the flip side everyone still wants to go out and have fun, all the time! That’s why having a daily deals app at your fingertips is probably a good idea. Whether its Living Social, Groupon, Yelp, Scout Mob etc. make sure discounts are readily available.
Social Media App
It it probably safe to say everyone is a user of at least one social network and has the app on their phone. The best for college students is Twitter. You will get campus news fast if your school has an account and if you follow a lot of people from your school you will always be in the know. If you don’t, you will sure be missing just about everything.
Note Taking App – Evernote
You can of course use whatever note taking app you would like, there are few out there. But none as good as Evernote! It can be difficult to stay organized in college, but Evernote does a pretty awesome job of helping.
Dictionary
Please download a dictionary! Believe it or not, spelling does count at most schools. The free dictionary apps work perfectly fine like Dictionary.com. But if you want to be fancy, you can get the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary for about $10.
Translator
Most schools require you to take a language no matter the major so a translator will be very helpful indeed. Google Translator seems to work perfectly fine. So even if you don’t know a lick of the language you are studying, fake it to you make with the help of your handy dandy translator app. Trust me, you will thank me later.
