Online University Beni American University to Launch in Nigeria This Month
African online university, Beni American University, founded by Nigerian entrepreneur Gossy Ukanwoke in hopes of closing the educational gap in Africa will launch July 31 in Lagos, Nigeria at the EduNet African Conference 2012.
At the launch event, Beni American University seeks to answer question in addition to policy makers, and other stakeholders. Ukanwoke says his team we will discuss the vision, general impact and direction of the new university.
The event will also include on-the-spot interviews for university admission. At the time of the launch, Beni American University will offer Associate Degrees at $150 per course costing students less than $4,000 for a degree – lower than one semester of room and board at a traditional university.
Ukanwoke says the university is currently working on a Bachelors program.
The launch event will stream live on the university website for those unable to attend. The event can also be followed via social media using hashtag #beniamerican on Twitter and Facebook.
