NewME Accelerator Start-up AgLocal Raises $1 Million from Andreesen Horowitz and Other Angels
Spring 2012 NewME Accelerator graduate Naithan Jones’s start-up AgLocal has raised $1 million in funding.
The funding comes from NewME sponsor Andreessen Horowitz, Midwest VC firm OpenAir Equity Partners and other angels including partner at Lux Capital, John Fohr; former CEO of Zave Networks,Thad Langford; founder of Leap2 and AdPredictive, Dan Carroll; partner at Tradebot Ventures, Andy O’Hara; and Matt Watson, founder of Vin Solutions and Stackify.
AgLocal is a start-up that connects independent farmers and producers with the demand of local businesses and consumers.
The funding will go towards helping the company build its technology platform, hire additional engineers, and establish relationships with potential partners.
AgLocal currently consist of seven members and is hiring engineers who will work out of Silicon Valley late summer into early fall. It’s base of operations will be in Kansas City, MO.
AgLocal plans to launch later this year.
