Spotify Releases Quincy Jones Artist App

Spotify Releases Quincy Jones Artist App

Spotify is releasing some pretty cool things. In addition to its new radio app, the music streaming platform released artist-branded apps that include the legendary Quincy Jones.

The new artist apps categorize and organize Spotify’s tracks and educate music fans on various genres and subgenres.

For example,  the Quincy Jones app includes exclusive audio by Quincy Jones himself. It is combined with playlists and  artwork to tell the stories behind his successful career in the music business.

Jones will talk about an array of different topics in the audio clips such as his personal heroes and mentors, the art of hit-making, and how music is used in movies.

In addition to all that knowledge, Jones will also put together some tracks for you to listen to in his own playlist. I mean, if you trust Pandora to select random songs for you, I don’t think you would mind getting a little help from Quincy Jones.

“The Spotify Artist App is a wonderful opportunity to share some of the behind the scenes stories of a few of the memorable recordings that I have been fortunate enough to make,” Jones says in the official press release. “I think this App will give entertaining insight and value for these recordings to both music fans and aficionados.”

Artist apps are available on the desktop client of Spotify on the left navigation bar. Spotify has released apps for a couple other artists and plan to add more across different genres like hip-hop, R&B, pop, and rock.
