President Obama’s Campaign Launch Facebook-Like Social Campaigning Tool ‘Dashboard’

As President Obama continues to lead in the social media space, he has another social tool he unleashing for this campaign. The Obama campaign will release a social campaigning tool called Dashboard.

Dashboard is a way for President Obama’s volunteers to work in a more effective and digital space. They will use it to recruit others volunteers, organize campaign events, and communicate with leadership with convenience using their laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Katie Hogan, a spokeswoman for the Obama campaign tells Mashable Dashboard is an online field office — a hub for campaign volunteers and supporters to communicate with each other and become members of neighborhood teams.

Is anyone touching President Obama’s social engagement game? Doesn’t look like it. Mitt Romney’s digital team is using a similar social media platform called “My Mitt,” but haven’t incorporated nearly as many social media platform’s as President Obama.

How much do you think social media will play in the 2012 elections?
