Digital Learning Day: Help Bring Innovation and Technology Into the Classroom

Many school districts across the country are slowly trying to transition classrooms into innovative, tech- savvy learning environments, but there are a lot more schools that have yet to step into this space. Digital Learning Day was created to give educators, parents, and studens the extra push to make it happen.

Digital Learning Day is an event in a year-round national awareness campaign to improve teaching and learning for all children. The problem with a lot of schools is the teachers have no idea how to integrate technology and education, but this is the opportunity to at least get the conversation started and figure out a plan on how to get teachers trained by those who are advanced in this area.

Those who sign up for Digital Learning Day may be involved in different activities depending on the individual or school. The website indicates small things you can do to be part of this movement from simply talking about the subject to actually using electronic devices for lesson plans.

Digital Learning Day is for everyone. Although targeted to grades 6 through 12, all educational institutions can get  involved in some shape or form to take the learning experience to the next level.

Digital Learning Day is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2011.
