Yesterday was NewME Community Worldwide meetup day where hundreds of minority entrepreneurs gathered across the country to talk about startups, technology, solving problems and building relationships. Some meetups pitched, some networked, some looked like they had some serious food but all looked like they had a good time. We really want to say thank you for your support of NewME and our vision. We’re excited about working with all of the communities in the future.
Many have been asking what’s next and how to stay in contact with each other. As of right now be sure to join http://newmecommunity.org website and forum as we’re planning some amazing projects for 2012 and beyond.
We asked communities to use the #newmecommunity hashtag to share their experience. Below are some of tweets and photos from last night via the various community meetups. If we missed any please send a tweet to @NewMECommunity and we’ll add it to the storify stream
The NewME Accelerator wants to help develop a tech entrepreneurship community around the country for under-represented minorities with NewME Community.
The purpose of NewME Community is to spread the NewMe mission to new locations and individuals around the world. At its core, NewME is focused on increasing the resources available for minority (African-Americans, Latinos, and Women) tech entrepreneurs by providing a platform for success and a local entrepreneurship community. Through collaboration we all become stronger and more knowledgeable. NewME Community will serve as a meeting place for local minority entrepreneurs to gather, learn, network, and share with each other for the greater good of the community.
If you attended one of the meetups let us know about your experience in the comments.Category: NewME Community | Tags: community, entrepreneurs, entrepreneurships, history, minority, Minority Entrepreneur Accelerator Program, NewME Community, Startups
