Onyx Ashanti Uses iPhone to Create “BeatJazz”, The Future of Music Composition [VIDEO]
It isn’t out of the ordinary to see an artist on stage with a guitar, saxophone, or any other type of musical instrument. But performing with an iPhone on stage may just be a jaw dropper.
There’s a new genre of music on the block and it’s called “beatjazz.”Musician and inventor Onyx Ashanti is the creator of “beatjazz”- a live, improvised form of electronic music.
Onyx doesn’t create his music in the studio, but with two handheld controllers, an iPhone and a mouthpiece, and the use of his entire body. The music he creates is all by the hands of technology and innovation.
He demonstrated his beat jazz at TED’s full spectrum auditions as he played a three minute song that shares his vision for the future of music.
Music is forever changing and with the development of new technologies there may be more iPhone musical creations coming sooner than later.
