Kanye West Reported to Invest in Turntable.fm Startup

According to Business Insider, Kanye West along with pop artist Lady Gaga are contributing to a $7.5 million financing round, headed up by Union Square Ventures, to the popular startup Turntable.fm, which is currently still in beta.

Turntable.fm is a brand new online social network that revolves around listening to music with others, giving thumbs up to tracks you hear that you like, and earning “DJ points” that win you cool new avatars. Thus far, it has received great reviews and have about 300,000 users although you still need an invite to access it. The startup recently received licensing agreements with American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Broadcast Music Inc.

Having big names like Kanye West invest in the company will only contribute more to it’s success.
