The Innovators Explores Black Entrepreneurship, Launches on Kickstarter
If you haven’t heard of The Innovators yet you’re not too late. The project led by journalist Faye Anderson is a web documentary that aims to show the changing face of innovation. Her goal is to raise $25k to fund the project. Take a look at the trailer she produced to help raise awareness for the documentary:
Faye described her moment of enlightenment a few months ago:
In March, I was viewing a Startup America Partnership webinar and nearly spilled my coffee.
CEO Scott Case was asked about women entrepreneurs’ lack of access to venture capital. Case said one challenge facing both women and minority entrepreneurs is “they’re not visible to us.”
He added: “We need to celebrate entrepreneurship in this country and profile those amazing people to create the level of inspiration that will allow people to step up.”
The people who need to step up are venture capitalists, angel investors and other funders.
I couldn’t agree more with Faye. So let’s make sure this documentary get made and don’t what we can, the levels of donation are listed on the projects Kickstarter page.
