Uber50 Goes Live, Shots Will Be Fired
If you’ve been wringing your hands in anticipation of the new 50 Cent Twitter app, the wait is finally over. Uber50 is finally available for download for BlackBerry users.
The result of a partnership between 50 and UberMedia, Uber50 takes UberSocial’s popular Twitter format and remixes it with custom palettes chosen by the G-Unit boss himself. Users will also be instantly connected the G-Unit Twitter list for quick access to the label’s latest news and video. The $1.99 deluxe version of the app has a few more bells and whistles including the exclusive “Welcome to the Darkside” theme, sound effects created by 50 and exclusive artwork.
So if you’ve been following 50 Cent on Twitter for any length of time, you’re aware that his provacative tweets have caused him to run afoul of the Twitter police and had his account suspended on more than one occasion. Well Fif wants to make sure you don’t run into any problems offline when using his app, particular the sound effects which include gunshots and 50 unfriending and muting users as only he can. Check the fine print at the bottom of the site.
“Includes gunfire and other sounds that might not be suitable in all locations. Be smart and turn down your volume appropriately–you could be held responsible for people’s reactions to the sounds. Laws concerning the use of this software may vary. We do not encourage or condone the use of this program if it is in violation of any laws.”
So are they saying you could possibly catch a charge from using this app? It’s too hot for my taste, but if you own a BlackBerry and want to be down with the G-Unit crew you can download the app now. Android and iPhone users will have to wait for their turn. No word on if there will be a version for tablets, but we’ll keep you posted.
