Wayne Sutton Presents the Social Wayne QR Reader App
Today TriOut co-founder, Wayne Sutton has announced the launch of a brand new app. The Wayne Sutton QR Reader, pulls some of the best components of community together and packages them with a nifty QR Reader. According to the press release, the app “bridges mobile social, online and offline communities to provide a new way of mobile engagement. In addition to a blazing fast QR reader, the app gives users access to Twitter, Facebook and group chat as well as staying up-to-date on the latest tech events.
The iPhone-exclusive app is powered by Sutton’s community-building platform TriOut. For those unfamiliar with the platform, TriOut is a location-based service app that was created especially for residents of the North Carolina Triangle area although anyone can use it to check in. Their are currently two versions of the app – TriOutNC and TriOut for Business. The application incorporates QR Codes by using a custom QR Code Generator.
You might be asking yourself, why such a heavy focus on QR Codes?
“As you know I’m a huge advocate of QR Codes,” said Sutton. ” I believe that between QR Codes, RFID tags and NFC (Near Field Communication) technologies, QR Codes will have the largest impact, making it easier for people to check-in using location-based services. At least I’m betting on it.”
To shore up his bet, Sutton has teamed up with Mophie, Tappinn, Andy Beal’s Trackur, Brand Camp University and Tantrum Apps to launch a contest. Starting today, the week-long promotion requires players to scan the “QR Code of the Day,” after you download Sutton’s app of course. There are approximately $1,000 in prizes up for grabs so it’s a win/win. Today’s prize is a free Mophie Juice Pack Air 4. Other prizes include a free pass to the One Band Camp University Conference in New York City and a free six month pass for Trackur.
