NAACP Image Awards Launches a Mobile App
This year’s NAACP Image awards airs this Friday, Mar 4th. You can get in on the action now via the new Image Awards mobile application for iPhone and Android. The application includes videos featuring some of the Image Awards stars and their take on the significance of the event. These include commentary from Chandra Wilson, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and Holly Robinson-Peete. There is also a photo gallery, history and details on the Image Awards, and you can predict the winners in each category.
This is the first year that an app has been developed for the NAACP Image Awards, but the plan is that it won’t be the last. The goal is to engage fans via social media this year and in the coming years. You can get the app three different ways:
- Easiest way is to visit http://action.naacp.org/ImageAwardsApp on your mobile device and enter your phone number
- You can also get it from the Android Marketplace by clicking here
- Finally, you can text APP to 62227 to receive further instructions for installing the app on your device
The best part of the Image Awards is honoring those who have achieved important milestones in the fields of social justice and art. But there’s an extra thrill in correctly predicting who the winners will be.
