As a serial entrepreneur and business strategist, Elijah R. Young has assisted in the start up of 18 businesses since 2003. In addition, Young also uses his extensive business experience in the education sphere, teaching entrepreneurship to teens and young adults via Young University, Young’s “entrepreneurial institute teaching aspiring business owners the specific steps to take from the time they have a business idea, to the grand opening of the new company.”
Young is optimistic when it comes to the digital divide, “I’m already seeing entrepreneurs decreasing the digital divide in two ways. First, by creating low cost mobile carriers, lower income families are getting the benefit of broadband mobile internet as an affordable price. Second, these carriers are starting to release smartphones on their networks, so now the vehicle for mobile browsing is beginning to spread through communities that haven’t had access.”
