Wayne Sutton Named TechMedia’s Director of Digital

Wayne Sutton, social media expert and cofounder of TriOut, is the newest addition to TechMedia.  As Director of Digital, Sutton will be designing all upcoming content for Tech Media conferences, while positioning himself as not only a social ambassador, but a liaison for the community.TriOut, however, will not be void of leadership as Sutton expands his rein. Co-founder Lawrence Ingraham as well as sales manager and advisor Gregg Morris will be on hand to make sure the company doesn’t miss a beat in his absence.
‘A well-known technology leader with a focus in social media, Sutton has put in more than 10 years in the business thus far. He hopes to continue his mission to assist individuals, startups, and businesses in learning how to effectively navigate the web and utilize its full potential in the realm of brand strategizing, social networking and mobile marketing.
TechMedia, the parent company of TechJournal South, hosts leading conferences and networking events across the Southeast including the Southeast Venture Conference, the Internet Summit in Raleigh, Digital East in the Potomac region, and the Deck Party.
“I’m excited about joining the TechMedia team and looking forward to helping to educate, network and build the region’s technology economy through events and media,” Sutton said.
Sutton’s experience spans Inc 500 companies, providing counsel to small start-ups, as well as assisting nonprofits and CEOs of various sized corporations. Even with a full plate like this, Sutton finds the time to maintain his own media endeavor with SocialWayne.com. The blog has received nods from top tech lists the Top 50 Social Media and Technology blogs of 2010 while ranking among the AdAge Power 150.
Active in North Carolina’s Research Triangle area, Sutton organizes community events including Ignite Raleigh, Triangle Startup Weekend, Triangle Tweetup, and the Social Media Business Forum. On the entrepreneurial end, Sutton has been an active force in countless startups and has shared his expertise at speaking engagements such as SXSW, Social Media Breakfast, BrandCampU, Triangle American Marketing Association, TIMA, PRSA, FutureM/GEOM, Pubcon Austin and Blog World.
