Follow the Paper Trail: Choose Your Experts Wisely
In this week’s installment of “The Gatekeepers Are Gone,” Lamar Tyler discusses the experts you might encounter during a conference or panel. The ones that dole out all the advice on generating revenue. While they might talk about creating revenue streams via product placements, marketing through sites like Amazon and Lulu, and creating brand partnerships, the question you should be asking is if they’re practicing what they preach.
“Before you go and listen to anyone out there telling you how to make money, make sure they’re making money themselves.”
Since money is the number one topic at blogging convention, Tyler advises that you ask the experts on the panel what type of money they’re making.
“Walk up to the microphone and ask, do you make fast food money, car note money, or mortgage money?”
