Urban Gossip All Day Every Day With The UG App!

Urban Gossip is hitting the mainstream app world with the release of Urban Gossip (UG) for the iPhone. It is already known as the premiere black celebrity gossip app for the iPhone and debuted in the “New and Noteworthy” section within the Apple iTunes News category. The Urban Gossip app takes all the latest news from the most popular Urban Celebrity News Sites (MediaTakeOut.com, YBF, Bossip.com, Concrete Loop, AllHipHop.com, Necole Bitchie and others) and aggregates it into the application giving you live updates as new posts are made.

There are two options for UG, a paid app currently listed at $1.99 and a free app which has ads continuously throughout the time the app is open. Once you get the app, simplicity is the name of the game. There is a choice of the 20 built in celebrity gossip sites. You can click on any of their thumbnails across the bottom of your screen and get directed right to their site. Each website translates well within this app as they maintain their “personality” in the app and look identical to their web versions. On four out of five websites I tested, you could read all articles, see pictures and even comment on any specific article. The speed of navigation was impressive, as was the capability of the app to update frequently throughout the day as each website. If you have other websites that you like to monitor for you Urban Gossip news, UG gives you the option to add any website of your choosing. Simply type in their home web address and they are now available via the bookmarks bar anytime the app is open. That is my favorite feature of the app and just opens it up for greater customization.

In terms of upgrades to look forward to in the next few updates, an iPad version is definitely needed as well as an Android counterpart. Hopefully in the near future we will see both of those additions. For people who enjoy gossip news and all of the debate that ensues, this app is a must get.
