By Donte Gibson
Dying to get into Chef Michael Samuelsson’s newest restaurant venture, Red Rooster Harlem? Well, American Airline’s Black Atlas has your chance. This weekend, Black Atlas is offering its registered users a chance to win tickets to an exclusive event at the New York restaurant on November 15th.
The brand will be a launching two citywide scavenger hunts, one in Brooklyn and one in Harlem, this Saturday and Sunday, offering its followers clues via its Twitter page as to the whereabouts of the Black Atlas van. Tickets to the event will be given to sixteen winners lucky enough to find the van’s location.
The event will be a pre-opening dinner for the new restaurant curated by Samuelsson, a darling of the restaurant industry. It will feature a four-course meal with each course paired with a wine provided by Heritage Link Brands. The evening will be capped off with an intimate performance by soul singer Chrisette Michelle.
Black Atlas, a travel site launched by American Airlines, prides itself on providing users the combined experience of a travel site and an online social network. The site, launched in 2009, takes aim at African-American travelers by providing commentary and professionally produced videos focused specifically on black culture found in different travel destinations across the globe.
For this event, Black Atlas is pairing up with NYC food bloggers Carol Cain of NYCity Mama and Nichelle Stephens of Niche Food. The bloggers will each host a scavenger event—Nichelle on Saturday and Carol on Sunday.
