Kanye Enters Social Media Frenzy
Kanye took the social media world by storm. It started on Wednesday when Kanye performed at Facebook. The artist then proceeded to join Twitter and got an immediate following. One of his more intriguing tweets discussed his early morning meetings with some Silicon Alley companies, leaving room for plenty of speculation. And if that wasn’t enough, the next stop on the Social Media Tour was the Twitter office where he gave another impromptu concert.
Federal Government Approves Google and Jailbreaking
Google continues to make pioneering strides becoming the first company of its kind to receive government accreditation for its cloud services. This essentially means that every sector of government, including local and state can now use Google’s cloud services on a large scale. To date, Microsoft has yet to receive the go ahead from the government. However, with the ongoing security concerns regarding the cloud and the ongoing conversation of internet security, it remains to be seen how the government will put the cloud to use. The practice of jailbreaking is now legal thanks to a list of exemptions made by the government concerning a 1998 law. With the exemption in place, mobile device owners can unlock their phones and upload a myriad of apps that were previously forbidden.
Global Hue’s Revolving Door
Advertising company Global Hue has parted ways with it’s fourth executive over nine months. Gustavo Razzetti is no longer president of GlobalHue Latino and GlobalHue New York. There has been much speculation over the details of the departure. According to an insider source on Mediabistro, Global Hue has been forced to rebrand itself in regards to digital and has lost a number of A-list accounts including the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee campaign. No word on Razzetti’s replacement or the company’s direction moving forward, but there’s no question that all eyes will be on Global Hue over the next few months.
