NewMe Conference: Toni Cook Bush
Black Web 2.0 recently held the NewMe Conference. If you’re unfamiliar, the conference was set up to bring together the creative, innovative energy of minority entrepreneurs. The goal of the two day event was not only to engage in discussion on where to find opportunities to nurture opportunities for blacks in new media, but to develop an action plan for new ventures and a policy framework to sustain our growth.
As chairwoman of the FCC Diversity FACA Telecommunications Subcommittee, Antoinette “Toni” Cook Bush makes recommendations to the FCC on how they can better serve minorities and women. Dealing primarily with broadband and getting people access, Bush is coming face to face with the issue of net neutrality and the “nascent” status of the web, where entrepreneurs are still figuring out how to properly monetize their web presence. Please watch and share your thoughts
