NewMe Conference: David Sutphen
Black Web 2.0 recently held the NewMe Conference. If you’re unfamiliar, the conference was set up to bring together the creative, innovative energy of minority entrepreneurs. The goal of the two day event was not only to engage in discussion on where to find opportunities to nurture opportunities for blacks in new media, but to develop an action plan for new ventures and a policy framework to sustain our growth.
David Sutphen, co-founder of the Internet Innovation Alliance discusses his work on talking about the impact that broadband access will have on communities of color. He also discusses the ongoing debate surrounding broadband including ensuring that everyone has equal access, aspirational disconnect, and the importance of broadband to entrepreneurs.
