SXSW 2010: Sound Unbound
Sigh, if you’re like me, you were home gnashing your teeth that you weren’t at this year’s SXSW and promising yourself that you’ll make next year. We may not have been able to attend all the awesome panels, parties, and networking, but at least we can live vicariously through video footage. One such panel was Sound Unbound featuring Derek Woodgate and Paul D. Miller aka DJ Spooky that Subliminal Kid discussing excepts from DJ Spooky’s book titled “Sound Unbound”
For those of you that may not know about DJ Spooky. He’s a multimedia artist, composer, and writer specializing in art, music, and technology. Sound Unbound discusses the role of sound and digital media in our increasingly information-based society.
Check it out and start saving your pennies for next year’s SXSW. I’ll see you there!

attended SXSW and enjoyed many panels. Unfortunately, there were not many African Americans in attendance. The Blacks in Tech Meetup sponsored by Ogilvy (at the Carver Museum) was excellent, but not well attended. However, one highlight was the Africa 3.0 panel. I would encourage everyone to check out the presenter, TMS Rouge, and his organization Project Diaspora. http://projectdiaspora.org The world is definitely changing.
