Platinum Life: Ahead of the Class

by Sherri L. Smith Platinum Life: Ahead of the Class

A social networking game is nothing without its avatars. The visual representative of yourself and your exploits as you go about your tasks on an seemingly never-ending quest to reach the top of the lederboard.

Some social games only feature generic avatars with no real way to differentiate between yours and another players except names and stats. This is one of the reasons I’m digging Platinum Life so much. I love being able to change Triumph, my avatar’s look on the fly. One minute she’s rocking her hair long and wavy, the next it’s in a cute pixie cut.

The other thing I like about the game is the way it deals with classes. If you’ve ever played a social networking game, you know that there are usually a few classes you can choose from for your avatar. These classes are a major part of determining your strategy in regards to their strengths and weaknesses.

In Platinum Life, you have three unique classes to choose from. You can climb the ladder of success as a DJ, an Emcee, or a Singer. Each role has a unique gameplay style and those who learn how to work within the parameters of their specific class can build a winning strategy that will catapult your avatar the to the top.

Those that want to rock the 1s and 2s will naturally choose the life of a DJ. The DJ class earns Juice faster than the other two which is something to keep in mind if you’re the type of player that likes to hammer out events. As far as equipment you want to focus on anything that’s going to increase your performance and recording stats so you can get the party moving at a moment’s notice.

If you like going head to head against other players in a winner take all scenario or you always had fantasies of being a rap superstar, than the Emceet class is right up your alley. The Rapper class lets players re-up on their cred faster than the other two classes which lets you bring the hot fiyah to the wannabes that dare to challenge your rhyme skills. Like the DJ, you want to make sure your performance and recording skills are up but you also want to keep an eye on your social stats since that plays a part in the battle equation.

Like making that fast cash? Then maybe you want to be a vocalist. Singers earn cash faster than its two counterparts. That’s a huge plus when it’s time to upgrade your gear and purchase assets.  You might not level up as fast as the Rappers, but you’ll definitely look the part of a big name artist. In addition to performance and recording, you’ll definitely want to keep the video stat as high as possible for the best effect.

So there you have it. Three different roles, three different playing styles, and one goal — make it to the top of the charts, one performance at a time.
