Zillow Comes To Android With Extra Features
The popular real estate application Zillow has come to Android today, hoping to duplicate the success of their previous iPhone application. They have added a few new features to the Android offering that should help get the ball rolling. These include data by voice and the inclusion of Google streetview. You can download the App for free.
As the leader in mobile real estate, Zillow now provides real estate data and info for all U.S. homes on the free Zillow Android App. See Zestimate home values, homes for sale, homes for rent, and more. Use Android’s voice search feature, plus built-in GPS technology, to search for homes as you talk, walk or drive through neighborhoods.
The data-by-voice feature is excellent for those cruising around looking for a home. Rather than trying to fumble around with their phone while also attempting to drive, you can speak an address into the phone and have it walk you through the directions. A simple feature, but one that should make shopping for a home that much safer. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal in some states to look at your phone while driving.
The Google street view option is almost a necessity for anyone looking to purchase or rent a home. You can sit in the comfort of your own home and browse through the listings of houses. Not only can you figure out if a particular home is in your price range, or whether it’s nice on the inside, but you can now browse the surrounding neighborhood a little. You usually don’t want your house to be the diamond in the rough. Also, the photos that home owners post of their properties and the way the property looks in real life is sometimes totally different.
The GPS functionality of Zillow allows you to drive through a neighborhood and see instantly what houses in the area are available. It houses data on over 90-million homes, nearly every one in the US. It even holds data on homes that are not currently available, which lets you form a better picture of the value of the neighborhood. Check out the video below to see Zillow in action. Even if you’re not looking for a new residence, it looks like it might just be fun to play with.
