ION Audio Makes You See Double

Pocket camcorders are one of my favorite gadgets. Small and easy to use, they’re great for capturing  those impromtu moments or snagging a quick interview. The arms race in the pocket camcorder market is at a stalemate. They all have HD capability, a low level megapixel lens that can take decent stills, and of course fit effortlessly in your pocket. The only real differences between the current generation of pocket camcorders are battery life, image resolution and memory capacity.

ION Audio is looking to shake up the market with its latest product. The ION TWIN VIDEO is the world’s first video recorder fitted with a front and back lens. The extra lens lets the TWIN VIDEO take videos of yourself and the subject simultaneously, making vlogging a more interesting experience. Users can control the lenses independently. Another cool feature is the ability to swap out pictures as well as display both videos on split screen and picture in picture which is great for live editing.

TWIN AUDIO uses both SD and SDHC cards so you can record as much video as you want. That gives it the one up over Flip cams with their internal memory. Another feather in ION new gadget is that the internal battery can be charged via a wall socket just in case you don’t have your laptop available. It also comes with a Duo Stand to keep the camera from shaking for those of us with nervous dispositions. This camera is ideal for vloggers or people that conduct a lot of interviews like myself.

“TWIN VIDEO changes the video-capture game,” said Gregg Stein, Managing Director, ION. “Until now, you needed two cameras and expensive editing software to create a video from multiple angles. Now a first-time TWIN VIDEO user can capture the subject in front of them as well as their viewpoint – live – on the fly .”

Unfortunately, there’s no word on the good specs like camera resolution, battery life, and price. Never fear, the video double header is set to hit shelves some time in Q2. By then we’ll have specs and hopefully a review copy.
