12 Days of Techmas: JVC Everio

by Sherri L. Smith 12 Days of Techmas: JVC Everio

File this under tremendously tiny tech. JVC, global consumer electronics manufacturer, unveiled the Everio GZ-HD620 HD camcorder. At a minuscule 270g, the Everio is the smallest and lightest HD HDD camcorder in the world. As with most tech these days, the smaller it is, the bigger the kick.

The newest member of the Everio series has 120GB of storage space, and captures video in full 1080p. According to Akihabara News, the 53mm×63mm×115mm marvel is also packing a 1/4.1-inch, 3.32MP CMOS sensor with Backside Illumination. In addition there’s a 30x optic zoom and 200x digital zoom with Micro SDHC/SD card capability and HDMI and USB ports.

Available in black, red, and silver, the Everio GZ-HD620 hits Japanese shelves on December 9 for approximately $1300. No word on when it will come stateside, but here’s hoping it’s in time to be the ultimate stocking stuffer.
