Tia Williams named Beauty Director of Essence.com

Fresh off the restructuring of their digital team, Essence has pegged beauty expert Tia Williams, to serve as the sites new Beauty Director. Tia is most notably known for her coverage of beauty and fashion trends on shows like MTV’s Total Request Live, CNN, and the WB Morning Show. Tia is also a published author, with her Putnam published manuscript The Accidental Diva, and co-writing credits for Iman’s makeup book, The Beauty of Color. Tia has also covered beauty for countless magazines and in her most recent position she served as a Senior Writer at The Daily/Fashionweekdaily.com.

Tia announced the departure on her personal blog saying:

This Essence.com position couldn’t have come into my life at a more perfect time! I’ve always adored the magazine, the site, and Emil Wilbekin, Essence.com’s irresistibly debonair managing editor (you also know him as the former Editor-in-Chief of Vibe and Giant). His vision for the site was so positively delicious and sexy that I was dying to be involved.
