Leapfish Brings Us the Living Web

by rahsheen Leapfish Brings Us the Living Web

LeapFish is an interesting search portal that creates it’s results by pulling together information from the major search engines. It also includes results from the social web and embeds all types of media directly on the results page. As you type your search, the results are pulled together using their “proprietary hyper-threading technology” in conjunction with the API’s of each service. Basically, LeapFish is a meta search engine.

We’ve created the first multi-dimensional information aggregator and search portal in the world. Our goal is to gather, organize and render the most relevant information from the internet’s most valuable destinations for each users search, in one single simple shot.

Today, LeapFish is kicking it up a notch by stepping into the real-time search arena. They will combine this with tighter social web integration and sharing via social media websites.

Leapfish 2.0 will yield information from every inch of the Internet – breaking news headlines, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. – and will even allow for user ratings to ensure that everyone receives the most important information first.

Merging Online search & share in a new search platform made to capture the real-time web. They call it the new Living Web. Some features you should expect to see:

  • Personal internet dash – add mutiple feeds and access points
  • Variety of the web – multimedia, blogs, etc.
  • Real-time – high-impact real-time search platform, capturing content from the social web
  • Searching and sharing – easy, convenient, seamless integration of sharing mechanisms merging the  social and traditional web at each piece of content

There are other realtime search engines out there, but I haven’t really been impressed with any of them. Leapfish, approaching the situation from a different angle, may finally bring us something worth our attention. By combining your regular web search with realtime results from the social web and allowing you to easily share the hottest new stuff, it could be one of the most powerful tools we’ve seen in a while. That is, of course, if they deliver on their promises.
