If you’re the unfortunate owner of a T-Mobile Sidekick or a Snow Leopard user that accidently clicked the “guest” account, no doubt you learned a valuable lesson concerning the wisdom of backing up your data this week. Namely, trust no one but yourself to protect your valued contacts, music, and important files. Even if you weren’t a part of that crowd, don’t sit on your keister waiting for some freak act of God or cloud computing to erase your precious data. It’s time to invest in some piece of mind, namely an external hard drive.

c2-image2-200x250Ontario-based storage fanatics Clickfree have just launched their latest weapon against lost files and sanity. The Clickfree C2 is an ultra-portable solution to all your data backup needs. This pocket-friendly cutie is an all-in-one deal featuring an integrated USB cable. And to alleviate the tedium of dragging and dropping files piece by piece onto the drive, the C2 automatically starts to search, sort, and backup files — just plug it in to your comp.

Other cool features include the iPod music transfer and email attachment extraction. You can also burn backup CDs or DVDs using the computer’s burner or even upload photos directly to Facebook using the Clickfree Viewer. There’s also hardware encryption capability, because there’s no point in backing up your data if every Tom, Dick, and Harry can going poking in your business all willy-nilly.

Available for both Windows and Mac users, the whimsical wonder is available in a seriously glossy black or white. It also has some big storage capacity going on with a 250 and a 500GB version. Retailing at $129.99 and #189.99 respectively, it’s a small price to pay to keep all your important information along with your cool.
