Pepsi We Inspire Digital Campaign Targets Black Women
Pepsi has been aggressive lately in creating interesting and engaging digital content. The Will.i.am and L.M.F.A.O. collaboration (Pepsi Taps…Digital Remix Project) is one such effort. However, the brand’s latest project gives a major nod to African American women and is inspired by the growing popularity of mommy bloggers.
PepsiWeInspire.com is an interactive website and community for African American women that celebrates the bonds between women. And they are bringing the star power to inspire the rest of us to share our stories of beauty, laughter, joy, hope, wisdom and love.
Songstress Keyshia Cole, actresses Raven-Symone and Taraji P. Henson kick off the campaign by sharing stories that tug at the heartstrings as well as provide a forum much like blogging, where any woman can share their own stories. Queen Latifah and other celebrities will be joining the forum in the near future.
Pepsi is utilizing Facebook, ads in Essence and Black Enterprise and they will run spots on BET. PepsiWeInspire.com is a part of a bigger campaign RefreshEverything.com that endeavors to reinvigorate the positive and upbeat messages associated with the cola company.
Nichelle Stephens has been selected as the site community’s editor.

I love this more and more of African American Women coming together! Because of what I've gone through in my life “I Love Who I've BECOME” is what inspired me in my life to help grow my Business, Ministry and Foundation. To help women and young women to not allow any one to depreciate their self worth, but have faith, trust God and yourself to increase your value! The name of my business is The Most Beautiful Of Jewels http://www.themostbeautifulofjewelstania.com
I love the fact that there is something that does target African American both men and women because I for one am so frustrated with television and only seeing people of White descent with a few Blacks sprinkled in…sigh so I say rock on and thank you for giving face time and with a positive message to Blacks.
It’s nice to see cause related marketing… but it just seems all to convient these days. So first you didn’t want “blacks” and now you do? There’s the My Black is Beautiful campaign with Proctor and Gamble, then there is McDonalds 365black.com and of course the Sprite Step Off. Why is black the focus all of a sudden? It just seems very disingenuous.
