Nokia Gets it Twisted in a Good Way
by Sherri L. Smith
Cell phone maker Nokia is putting a new twist on the cell phone, literally. The Nokia Twist 7705 is a fun little phone with a few tricks up it’s diminutive sleeve, the biggest being the hidden QWERTY keypad. Simply swivel the top of the 2.71 x 2.71 x 0.59-inch phone and you’ll reveal a full-sized keypad ready for whatever texting action you can throw at it.
The Twist has some other decent features including a 3.0 megapixel camera with photo editing and color effects as well as customized slideshows and video capture. There’s also the media center for downloading games, music and other multimedia and the “post to blogs” feature that allows you to post multimedia to your various blogs. And for the music lovers, there’s Verizon V CAST Music with Rhaspody. You can also customize your contact notifications via the Contact Light Ring, located in the lower right corner.
Teaming up with Verizon Wireless, the Twist is retailing for $149.99, but there’s a $50 rebate for those willing to sign up for a two-year contract. And for those of us that like to support a good cause, if you purchase the phone from verizonwireless.com from October 6-29, you’ll receive a free “picture frame phone lanyard to raise awareness of HopeLine and support domestic violence prevention.” Now that’s always a good look.
