MTV & OurStage.com Partner to Assist Independent Artists

by Jabari Johnson MTV & OurStage.com Partner to Assist Independent Artists

MTV has teamed up with OurStage.com to provide independent artists the opportunity to gain more exposure online. OurStage is the leading website for indie artists boasting over 90,000 musicians across the nation. Based on a voting platform, users choose which music is best and the top ranked artists can have their music heard on larger outlets such as, ABC Radio, Radio One, AOL Music and many more.

MTV’s involvement in the partnership will give OurStage artists the chance to have their music reviewed for inclusion in programming on MTV2, MTVU, and MTV Tr3s. OurStage CEO, Ben Campbell sees much promise for the collaboration. “OurStage is in the business of delivering life-altering opportunities for worthy artists – so working with MTV2, one of the greatest brands in the history of the industry, is really exciting for OurStage and our whole community,” says Campbell.

With MTV.com averaging over 23 million unique visitors in the second quarter of 2009 and OurStages’ 1 million registered users, the combined popularity of the two companies presents a great outlet for indie artists.

Some great artists to check out on OurStage are inobe, Jonas, and Walter Heath.

What has happened is outrageous religious censorship and discrimination.
Whether you love us or hate us consider the precedent that this situation establishes.

This is not about religion, but about the corruption at Ourstage. If they lied about us can you trust them about the voting?

If anyone you know is investing time and effort building a presence and network of connections on Ourstage you owe it to them to make them aware of what is going on.
