LazyFeed Goes Public And Adds Shiny New Screencast
by rahsheenLazyFeed went public this morning and also made a few updates to the service. They also added a screencast to help explain what the service is and what it can do for you. LazyFeed helps you keep up with topics that interest you. The difference with LazyFeed is that you don’t have to already know where to find information about those topics. You just tell it what you want and it finds everything you need for you, keeping you updated in realtime. From the screencast, “It’s almost like instant messenger where your friends are topics and they talk to you when they have something to say.”

Since they first hit the scene, they’ve added a few major changes based on user feedback, including:
- A status bar at the bottom of the page, which makes it easier to navigate. You can access “Topics for Lazy Me” and “Saved Stuff” from here.
- One major concern early on was that spammy content would interfere with your experience. If you don’t want to see contents from certain sources, you can now block them easily by using block feature. This should please a lot of users.
- In one click, you can share your interesting discoveries with your friends on Twitter, Facebook, and via Email.
LazyFeed is “currently indexing contents from various video sites, photo sites, and from about 1 million blogs, and it’s still growing.” I think it’s awesome that they are listening to and actually applying changes based on user feedback. Currently, LazyFeed has no social aspect whatsoever. Besides sharing stuff you see to your external social networks, there is no way to interact with people directly from LazyFeed. I’m curious as to whether LazyFeed plans to delve into this territory because that would actually make it more like FriendFeed and could get pretty interesting. Especially if they implemented Likes and Comments. Go sign up and tell us what you think.
