Michael Vick Claims Blog on Global Grind isn’t his

I am admittedly no huge sports fan, especially when it comes to football, however a story regarding Michael Vick’s recent blog post on Global Grind struck me as interesting. It is being reported from various sources including the Philadelphia Daily News and ProFootballTalk.com that there is dispute between Vick/Eagles and Global Grind on the authenticity of a blog post published on Global Grind this past Sunday titled “WHAT I DID WAS HORRENDOUS.”

From the Philadelphia Daily News Website:

An Eagles spokesman informed us a little while ago that he asked Michael Vick and that Vick said a blog attributed to him was not personally written by him and is contents were not dictated by him.

A spokesman for Def Jam Enterprises, the parent company behind the blog, said in an email to the Daily News last night in the process of our confirming the information before we posted this, “I assure you that Russell Simmons spoke with Michael Vick a little over a week ago (Russell blogged about his conversation with Michael on both Huffington Post and GlobalGrind.com) and Michael committed to writing an exclusive blog for GlobalGrind.com, which would be released simultaneously with Michael’s appearance on 60 Minutes. We stand 100% behind the blog’s authenticity.”

ProFootballTalk.com is also reporting that “The Eagles have advised us that the blog isn’t Vick’s, based on a direct denial from Vick himself.” They go on to report the authenticity of the blog post could be hugely important in Vick’s revived career since Eagles owner “Jeffrey Laurie made it more than abundantly clear on Friday that Vick has zero margin for error.”

Both sources have contacted Global Grind for comment without any luck.  We’ve contacted them for statement as well.
