Is Facebook Destroying Our Relationships?

As if we didn’t have enough relationship problems, looks like Facebook causes you even more grief. According to a recent study, many of us just seem to act a little stalkerish online. The four main causes for this jealousy?

  • Access to Information – Many of us realize that NOT mentioning certain things helps keep the peace in a relationship, but posting status updates about you’re doings provide your significant other with too many details, resulting in jealousy.
  • Relationship Jealousy – Don’t act like you’ve never been asked who that new guy/gal friend is on Facebook.
  • Facebook Addiction – Not only are people getting jealous about who you associate with on Facebook, but 10.3% of people can’t seem to stop looking at your profiile.
  • Lack of context – How many times have you got in trouble for something you said online because there was no context around what you said? 7.4% of people agree that you had no business getting yelled at.

MC Hammer Having Money Problems…Again

Your favorite old-school rapper turned startup founder and social media enthusiast MC Hammer has apparently fallen on hard times. His startup DanceJam that launched at TechCrunch40 in 2007 has already been struggling.

According to reports, MC Hammer owes $671,182 to the IRS and the State of California in three separate tax debts, each of which has resulted in liens being placed on property owned by Hammer and his wife.

MC Hammer has declared bankruptcy previously (in 1996), and it’s not clear from reports whether the new debts may force him to declare bankruptcy a second time. What the do show though is that MC Hammer can’t pay his bills, and that could be representative of even deeper financial issues at play.

Vick Gets Signed. Players Tweet About It.

Michael Vick, formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, has been signed by the Eagles. Many people are surprised by this  and I have no idea why. The man went to jail for being involved in a dog fighting ring, served his time in jail and paid his debt to society. He deserves a second chance at life and it seems many NFL players agree according to their tweets.

Dear Facebook Users. Here’s What FriendFeed Brings to the Table.

ReadWriteWeb has a very nice write-up of what FriendFeed brings to this whole Facebook merger. I sincerely hope that this means Facebook will be integrating those things from FriendFeed that have made it one of my favorite places to hang out. One thing that still nags me is that Facebook’s private nature is the primary stumbling block for it being really useful to me and I don’t see Facebook changing it’s ways anytime soon.
