Bing’s Wack New Jingle

by Markus Robinson Bing’s Wack New Jingle

As responsible consumers of the web, there’s no way we should have allowed Bing’s new jingle contest to infect with web without at least attempting to inject a little flavor into it. Announced in July, the contest employed video and music hobbits to create a jingle for Microsoft’s newest search engine. The contest lasted approximately 10 days, with the winning submitter receiving a $500 American Express gift check… not too shabby! The contest winner was chosen based on the number of views and quality the of ratings on each video submission.

The winner, announced yesterday, was Jonathan “RockCookieBottom” and his song “Bing Goes the Internet”. Now, I’m not sure if the people who viewed and rated this were simply wack or just malicious, but the outcome is sure to haunt the internet for months to come. RockCookieBottom not only succeed in creating the world’s most annoying hook, he has also included a dance that is sure to rival “The Dice Roll (NSFW)”, and the “William Hong 2-step” as worst dance move.  His interpretation of the Vogue @:43 and the Twist @:45 (At least I think it was the twist. Correct me if I’m wrong.), is sure  to linger in your mind just as long has the mundane and nasaled “Bing goes the Internet” chorus.

This video is either proof of how flavor-less the web really is, or one of the cruelest internet jokes in history, regardless, anyone who participated in the success of this video ought to be ashamed of themselves.

That was beyond bad. I hope they didn't pay anyone to write that for them.
