Using thisMoment to Create Your DreamBoard

by rahsheen Using thisMoment to Create Your DreamBoard

We all know how important it is to have goals, but many of us don’t really focus on them like we should. You should have a clear picture of your long-term goals, maybe a few years out. From those goals, you want to create short-term goals that you can accomplish in the near future. In the end, you should have broken down your long-term goals into tasks you can accomplish on a daily basis to take you there. This process is boring for some, including me, but you have to have a clear vision of your success.

Your Dreamboard

One of the more exciting facets of laying out your goals is creating a Dream Board. In it’s basic form, this is simply a big collage of pictures and words cut out from magazines or wherever that help you visualize your goals. Knowing what you want out of life is one thing, but being able to visualize yourself in success is more powerful. With thisMoment, we can actually create something like a Dream Board, but with much richer media.

Getting Started

The first thing you’ll need to do is create your account with thisMoment and create a new moment. You can create multiple moments to focus on each specific goal that you have, or you can choose to mix a bunch of different goals together. In either case, thisMoment makes it simple to search for whatever you may need. Not only can you search across YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Photobucket, Joost, and LIFE, but you can also upload your own media.

Adding Details

Be as detailed as possible in your descriptions because you want to really immerse yourself in the moment. Add photos and videos that appeal to you. Add captions that put you in the moment. If possible, get photos of yourself in your dream house or sitting in your dream car. Anything you can do to make it real. You might even sequence your media (just drag it in the order you want) so that it follows some type of storyline. Don’t forget that you can also add people and locations to your moment. The possibilities are endless, be creative and feel free to share your new moments in the comments (assuming they aren’t private).

Check out a simple example I did for the Dodge Charger SRT.

This is indeed a good way to organize life and future. But sometimes destiny destroys hopes and dream and one must start all over again.
  • If that does occur, it's possible you weren't really following your heart in the first place. A lot of us SAY we want certain things out of life, but we're just lying to ourselves. If you try to follow a path that isn't truly yours, you may just end up sabotaging yourself at every turn.

I love dreamboards. They have helped me move forward in my life. I used them alot during my Marine Corps Marathon training in 2004. I have used them for my creativity and book publishing process. They have really helped me get clear about my spiritual, emotional, financial, and physical health.
