Vokle Helps You Unmute Yourself
by rahsheenVokle is a social site built around live video. It’s still in private beta, but they released a few demo videos the other day that give a better idea of exactly what they have to offer. At first glance, Vokle doesn’t appear to be anything new. The interface is something similar to Ustream and many other live video sites you may have come across.
“Vokle is a visually beautiful new addition to the video chat market, and a strong proof point that video is the future of business and personal communications.” – Chris Shipley
Vokle invites you to “unmute yourself”, which probably refers to advertisers who currently use banners to get attention.
“At Vokle, we believe that blaring banner ads is neither fair nor productive for users or advertisers. No longer are advertisers an interruption, but a valuable discussion opportunity.” - Rob Kiraz, Founder & CEO.
With Vokle, advertisers become content creators and can engage directly with the community. As we can see in the latest demo, companies and brands can hold interactive talk shows and invite people to “call in” and talk directly. The live chat also facilitates direct interaction. Multiple people can participate in the chat, which can be public or private and hosted by any company or individual.
By promoting products and services in this manner, companies can take advantage of the viral nature of video. Live chat and Twitter integration increase engagement and accelerate the viral nature of Vokle. While advertisers can promote products and gain instant feedback, customers benefit from having direct access. Being available to handle customer issues and answer questions in realtime helps to make a company stand out among it’s competitors.
This is definitely an interesting service and will be even more exciting once they go public. The future is realtime and those brands and companies that can interact in that environment will prevail. Consumers want direct engagement and feedback and Vokle may be the platform to help facilitate that.
