Tech Week in Review 7-31-09

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs mentioned to CNN that Twitter is banned on most Whitehouse computers. This is normal for many companies to do, but with the way this admininstration has been using social media as a powerful to reach the people, it seems pretty silly. Later reports showed that there are some computers authorized for Twitter and that group may be expanded. I’m not sure any of this matters as those who intend to use Twitter will just access it via their mobile phones.

The Coca-Cola Company‘s global marketing manager, Anthony J. Phillips demonstrates and explains Coke’s interactive vending machines, which were developed by Samsung and Sapient. The venders won the Design Grand Prix at the 2009 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Coca-Cola intends to roll out their interactive vending machines within the next 12 months.
