With increasing numbers of electronics companies jumping the ship on plasma TVs, LCD TVs are steadily taking over the market. Samsung isn’t giving up on plasma TV however. The Korean electronics company is pushing the envelope with its latest plasma, the 85o PAVV. Sleeker, more efficient, and thinner than previous generations, the 850 is proof positive that plasma industry is still alive and kicking.

The drool-worthy TV has a 50-inch screen and is an incredible 29mm wide. This TV is so skinny, Samsung is describing the width as “finger thick.” It’s also 20 percent lighter than previous models. In addition to the awesome dimensions, this TV has some kick-ass features that can’t be ignored. The 850 can handle full HD content (1080p), has 24p playback, and the advanced Full HD Crystal engine chip which combines all the advanced imaging technology to create stunning visual and enhance overall performance. The 850 also uses Auto Motion Plus 120/240Hz and Wide Color Control technologies and a USB 2.0 port for DivX video playback. Audio is just as impressive with SRS TruSurround HD & Dolby Digital audio.

While it’s slimmer it’s still a hefty 26 kg (57.32 lbs) so take it easy with the heavy lifting. And just in case 50-inches is still too small, Samsung is supersizing the 850 to a jaw-dropping 58-inches.

Currently there is no information regarding pricing, but we’re guessing that this television will put a serious dent in your budget.
