I didn't quite understand it at first when I signed up (a few weeks ago), but the more I tinker around with it, the more it's starting to come together—especially after reading your post.
Plus, I probably need to spend a little more time in the forums over on chi.mp and discover even more goodies about the site that I still don't know about.

I'm glad that it's not another 'club'. If there's one thing I am really getting annoyed with is the 'club' factor out here.
