It's nice to watch the Black Internet come of age. I like Ron also equated urban with black. Back when I started my site in 2001 that was pretty much the connotation. But now times are a' changing and urban doesn't automatically make me think black anymore. But hey what do I know my site contains the word urban and is for women of color. I won't be able to make it to SxSW but will definitely be at BWB 09. Hope to see ya there.

Being a Digital Urbanite has nothing at all to do w/ race or Black people specifically. If it did I would have just said that like the name of this blog “Black Web 2.0″, this is a great statement though and is partly why the panel was name that. Too often people think or use the term Urban (and variations of it) to mean Black.

Is this a prettier way of saying “black folks on the web?” I mean, what's the archetype of the “digital urbanite?” I guess we'll find out…good luck with your panel discussion.
