Russell Simmons named new Editor-in-Chief of GlobalGrind.com
by Markus RobinsonToday GlobalGrind announced via live stream on their site the introduction of a Celebrity Network and Russell Simmons new involvement as Editor-in-Chief of the site. Simmons says the site will be the “Huffington Post of Hip-hop”
If you have been on lately you may have noticed more and more celebrities being introduced into the site. Some of the celebs that were on the press conference today included Vanessa and Angela Simmons, Toccara, DJ Whoo Kid, Kevin Liles, and LL Cool J.
LL mentioned he is “excited to get his Blog on and to be apart of taking Hip-hop online to the next level.” While Kevin Liles will blog about random things he has to say and how to be Presidential since it is the new cool. Vanessa and Angela will be blogging about more of their life outside of what you see from their show Daddy’s Girls on MTV. Toccara will be talking about fashion, health, fitness, and insight into her life. She also has a site called IamToccara.com, which was news to me. Lastly, DJ Whoo Kid plans to interview people from his travels from around the world.
News to use is LL’s own site Boomdizzle.com is affiliated with GlobalGrind though exactly how was not clear as of this posting. GlobalGrind’s CEO Navarrow Wright emphasized during the press conference that during this down economy “…the Internet is flourishing. GlobalGrind gives the opportunity to put advertisers in front front of a growing audience online.”
Just a quick note to end on, we LOVE to see us supporting each other. GlobalGrind uses Justin.tv to stream the press conference. Check the full Press Conference on their channel over @Justin.tv:

It would be interesting if you could bring in all the tweets related to this post since the first tweet the other day when I first started talking about the press release. But there was even better discussion today. Is there a good way to capture that without using a hashtag to pull in the conversation?

We’re into deep introspection here at I Hate the Media. Every once in a while we look at our lives and think, “Perhaps we should show the media a little more love.”
Then we’re jolted back to reality when we find a quote from some bonehead like Russell Simmons.
