CES 2009: Ludacris releases first Rap HDS Blu-ray album
Not only will I interview Stevie Wonder this Saturday but I’ll also nabbed an exclusive interview with “Mr. Chicken & Beer” himself, Grammy-award winning artist Ludacris. The Atlanta-bred rapper’s new album “Theater of the Mind” will experiment with a new technology called HDS (High Definition Sound) which is basically a higher fidelity of surround sound that isolates Luda’s voice and his instrumentals in a way that makes every single note clear.
Here’s Ludacris on what he felt like when he first heard an album using HDS:
As soon as I heard the High Definition Surround (HDS) demo they sent over, I was like “Whoa, this is what I want for my album!” It was an opportunity to make history, the first rap record to be released in HDS, and I always want to be pushing into new things.
His album will not only be released on CD but in special BluRay format but more on that to come. We have 1-on-1 exclusive video with him that we are editing right now. That will be available in it’s entirety later.

You should always use ALL forms of media to market your product or service…online, direct mail, radio, TV, cable, billboards, etc. Find out which are the most effective for you and shift the majority of your budget to those. This still fidelity 401k allows for you to have some money available to keep testing the other marketing options. Most Entrepreneurs and Managers wouldn't put ALL of their 401k money or other retirement accounts into just one investment…so why do they continue to do it with their marketing budget?

Hello, for a long time I read your blog, thanks for that that write interesting and
useful posts.I consider that blogers it is possible to name many journalists.
Good luck
I had a friend who was in school for audio engineering telling me about HD CDs back in like 2003 so I kinda cool to see someone actually use it.
Thanks Angela.
@DNLee CES is the acronym used for the International Consumer Electronics Show that is held annually:

Hope that helps
Wow! but what do the letters CES stnd for? I’m still getting my tech bearings.
And Stevie Wonder, too. Amazing!
What’s the suggested retail price for an HDS Album? I’m not sure if I want to go back to buying albums from stores. Will this albums be offered for download?
Hey Angela thanks for the kudos. Def need to pick this up – it’s an awesome experience & it’s historic too! I was worried it may sound gimmicky” bu The sound is unbelievable – different vocals and sounds coming from different speakers at different moments was insane. I do think other artists will def follow – Dr Dre & Interscope President Jimmy Iovine mentioned the need for higher quality audio – they wanna get away from mp3′s asap. So expect this to evolve pretty quickly
Great interview Mario!!! I can’t believe Ludacris was at CES. I wonder how many artist will follow his lead with the HDS BlueRay album. I wish I was there to listen in person, I may have to get his new CD too
