You are living under a rock if you don’t know the presidential election is this Tuesday! Both presidential candidates have campaigned over the last couple of years, but I can say that Barack Obama has extended his reach online way further than John McCain. In a previous posts, we’ve shared the external channels where Barack has a presence such as MySpace, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Facebook and now an iPhone application. In comparison, I cannot honestly tell you where John McCain lives online because he is not transparent. I’ve scanned his website and there is no section that details his online networks. The following represents a picture on Barack’s website that allows you to follow “Obama Everywhere” that I think is great! It allows you to learn more about the candidate and form a personal relationship.
In 2008, when internet users create their own experiences, voters are joining in the Presidential election by using their voice. One great example would be Sean Combs – Diddy for the fans! Diddy started Diddy TV a few months ago that incorporates videos about Bad Boy Records, but mostly starts conversations about the presidential election and the economy. He has presented a different view about the state of the country and relayed that everyone from regular everyday Joes (check out James Andrew’s site www.Joes4obama.com) to high end celebrities have felt the effects of the economy.
I think Diddy has a special way of connecting with youth in a medium that they live everyday. Do you think the Diddy Vlogs have made an impact on the election? I definitely think so! DiddyTV has had more than 1.6 million channel views and has more than 55k subscribers to the channel. His latest video, Aint No Line Too Damn Long was added yesterday and has more than 32k views!
Sean Combs is powerful in his words, his business skills, and his overall presentation. I can only hope his efforts are recognized on November 4th. The countdown is on… 4 days until we know who will be the next President of the United States of America!
