Forbes Partners with UnityFirst.com to Distribute Diversity-Focused Business News

Forbes Magazine has teamed up with Unityfirst.com to distribute diversity-focused special advertising sections produced by Forbes Custom Solutions as well as to share other diversity and business news generated by Unity First. The Forbes special sections and other business news about diversity will be shared throughout the UnityFirst.com network, including its quarterly e-magazine and weekly Business World Index. Beginning December 1, 2008, select articles will be posted on ForbesDiversity.com.

“We are looking forward to sharing the important stories of diversity and business leadership that are critical to success, today and tomorrow,” says Janine Fondon, President and CEO of UnityFirst.com. “An emphasis on the importance of workplace diversity and other global best practices will help shape the future of business leadership in this changing economy and world marketplace.”

“Cultural competence is the key to global growth,” notes Selden Blommer, Executive Director, Forbes Custom Solutions, who invites corporations and other organizations to participate in the special advertising sections. “By covering the key issues and sharing success stories and best practices, we offer important, authentic dialogue about diversity and the future of global business success.”

Though the press release was vague, it looks as if ForbesDiversity.com may be similar to Glam Media’s Black life. Created with the intentions of being an ad network, it seems that Forbes Diversity will chose selected articles from Forbes’ network of publishers to display relevant diverse targeted information on the front of the Forbes’ Diversity website. (This is all speculation.)

We will report back as soon as additional information becomes available.

I agree, while I like the concept of having something like this I am not sure how or why this deal got closed for this particular site. I am hoping a past Peeps of the Web, Ty Ahmad-Taylor can help bring some great sites to light on ForbesDiversity.com.

    From MediaBistro:
Ty Ahmad-Taylor has been named chief product officer at Forbes.com. He had been senior vice president, product development and strategy at Viacom Networks.

Also we tried the Forbes ad network out for a little bit and while happy at first it ended up not working out so good for us which is why you see good ole google ads back in place ;)

If Forbes can actually sell ads for diverse QUALITY websites it might be a good look.
