@lynne. Thanks, although I had to look-up 'salient'.

Lol.

Seriously, I just though I remember that convo. Was I dreaming? Anyone else recall?

@Markus - I can't wait to see the rest. I met Tamera when she was on the Honeymag project and she seemed like a really smart woman. I hope she does consider some of what Fredric mentions was the discussion coming out of BWB.

@Fredric -- as always you make a salient point.

Wasn't there rumblings at BwB about how having a 'black branch' of a bigger entity slowly siphons dollars out of the grassroots community we've all been trying to build?

I mean, Glam is a business and they are in it to make money.

I'd be more 'eager' if I heard or read something about Glam has profit-sharing or franchise models similar to other corporations putting dollars in owners pockets...a la BMOA.

@Lynne I thought about you when Tamera mentioned HoneyMag.com. You hit the nail on the head. Tamera left Sahara to head up this initiative with Glam. In the next segment of the interview we dig a little deeper into her background and how the Black Life concept came about.

This is starting to make a lot more sense now -- the Black Life initiative from Glam. I kept mentioning Honeymag, but had no idea that one of the folks from Sahara Media was involved. This also now makes sense about the GlobalGrind initiative -- as it sounds like Glam wants to expand and branch out from being just a women's network. Glam is going to get pretty large in the next several months. Still wondering how much of a threat this will be to the likes of Essence.

Love what I'm seeing so far. Can't wait to see the rest. The black ad network space is getting very competitive. I wonder who will eventually emerge as the goto player in the multi-cultural space. What makes one better than the other? Does anyone know the answer? Maybe the part 2 and 3 of the video will provide some insight.
