I just want say you are so right I posted my first video podcast in iTunes in 2005 I had a good response but the people at apple would not list me with the white podcast top ten I started with feed burner and I am still on my quest b4 all of these so called urban social networking sites and blog site I was there but had no support from the white people or my black people. I can list more then a hand full of people that I talked that now have these sites up and I laugh. My site was there on the iPhone just like youtube but since I had urban content and no backing well you guessed it nothing I built my first site in 2003-2004 and the site went left to right unlike others sites that went up and down I had over twenty videos of like battle of the bands and raekwon and others. It so hard to here all these people say they were the first but mind you I have all the proof.

Loren's comments and the discussion about it during the panel at this year's SXSW inspired me to create AfriTechnology.com (http://www.AfriTechnology.com). It's an online community designed to give black people working in the technology industry and place to network, discuss, and help each other. I am still building out the site, but registration is free and I am already encouraged by my handful of members.

I also think you did a great job moderating the panel. I believe you mentioned that you were setting up a site to let tech bloggers network. I don't know if you set it up, but I hope that AfriTechnology can fill that role and complement your site.

Thanks for posting. I love the energy that seem to fill the room as the panel began. Clearly there was a strong demand for the panel and it's topic. Thanks for posting it. Hoping to get some additional insight on the mindset and movement of this community.

Thanks Lynne, she's been added. BTW great job moderating the panel. I love the way you and the panelist handle the Feldman situation. The situation could have gotten pretty ugly. Just goes to show the level of professionalism of you and your panelist.

Yes! and I've been asking a related question - Where are the Black Science Bloggers?

I even posted a critigue about the lack of "subject diversity" among Black blogs.

Glad this podcast is finally available. I check for it all the time myself and finally gave up thinking it was never coming. Good to know it's here, I can post it at my own site now. Your line up of participants misses one person though, Cheryl Coward was also on the panel.
