Maybe 50 Cent Gets Social Media After All

ThisIs50.com

Back in April, on RushmoreDrive, I wrote What Does 50 Cent Know About Social Media?. I didn’t have the space to do a real analysis of the efforts there, but there are other sites that have dug in a little deeper, such as ReadWriteWeb and even the Tech Observer blog over at Portfolio in 50 Cent and the Path to Niche Social Networking.

Of all the analyses out there, I find Michael Miraflor’s, How 50 Cent Uses Online Video to Build Brand Loyalty, over at ClickZ the most compelling.

He explains in detail how 50 Cent plans to monetize the social network, ThisIs50.com, that his digital team built on the Ning framework.

Kyte cofounder and CEO Daniel Graf says:

“He’s a great example of an artist who understands the value of the Internet and technology.”

Kyte is a live video service that 50 Cent’s team employs on the ThisIs50 network that enables fans to interact with Gunit in real time. Kyte recently announced a new ad model, different from other video advertising models, that will enable 50 Cent to monetize the swarm of content that he and his boys are creating over at the site.
